I just ordered a pack of Acne Jeans in Sweden and arrived today. I was not at home so my roommate was the one who discovered that I have a $ 185 + customized brokering a pair of $ 400. It ridiculous that the fees are almost 50% of GDP. UPS should come tomorrow. Is there a way for me to avoid paying the fee or even reduced? Thanks!

No, there is no way to avoid duty or brokerage fees. . Duties are what we feel nothing but brokerage fees vary from company to company. Postal Service U.S. have lower rates of all brokerage firms. UPS is one of the highest in the road. So the only way you can save money is to ask the sender to send the goods by mail. And as a sidebar, the USPS seems to leave much dutiable goods to slip through any other airline. I've had shipments from Europe that I knew to be subject to duties, but were not affected when the post office was the carrier. If you refuses to pay the taxes and fees of the goods will be delivered to the U.S. Customs that were auctioned to the highest bidder. You will be out of the original $ 400 you spent.
